a subsidiary of DP World, which is a strategic partner of the ASEAN Express \u2013 welcomed the direct rail link..<br \/>\nAmid improved connectivity, he said Laos is an interesting place to invest to expand DP World\u2019s business in Southeast Asia in addition to their businesses that are already active in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-624 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/vientianelogisticspark.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/vlp-48.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vientianelogisticspark.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/vlp-48.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/vientianelogisticspark.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/vlp-48-300x180.jpg 300w, https:\/\/vientianelogisticspark.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/vlp-48-768x461.jpg 768w, https:\/\/vientianelogisticspark.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/vlp-48-18x12.jpg 18w, https:\/\/vientianelogisticspark.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/vlp-48-80x48.jpg 80w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><br \/>\nThanaleng Dry Port\u2019s Managing Director Sakhone Philangam described the direct rail link as a breakthrough.<br \/>\n\u201cIt is the first time we have been able to directly link the dry port to Malaysia,\u201d he said, adding that the dry port aims to function as a regional and international logistics connector.<\/p>\n<p>The successful direct rail freight link is the result of a Memorandum of Cooperation signed by the two sides during an official visit to Laos by Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in June last year.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-621 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/vientianelogisticspark.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/vlp-45.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vientianelogisticspark.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/vlp-45.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/vientianelogisticspark.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/vlp-45-300x180.jpg 300w, https:\/\/vientianelogisticspark.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/vlp-45-768x461.jpg 768w, https:\/\/vientianelogisticspark.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/vlp-45-18x12.jpg 18w, https:\/\/vientianelogisticspark.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/vlp-45-80x48.jpg 80w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><br \/>\nThe service connects new trade routes and multiple inland ports across the region and is expected to significantly reduce the transit time of goods.
